state-police-seal-150x150(Boonville, NY – Nov. 11, 2013) On Friday Nov. 8 Trooper Robert Piekielniak and Trooper Holly Armendola, SP Remsen, responded to River Street in the Town of Forestport for a reported assault. The owner of a building located on River Street reported that a male subject, known to him as William C. Moran, 49, of 2126 Millers Woods Road, Boonville had entered his shop and assaulted him.

The 37-year-old victim received facial injuries and was treated at Upstate Medical Center.

While attempting to locate the suspect, the Troopers spotted Moran driving his pickup truck on Millers Woods Road. The Troopers ultimately stopped the truck and found Moran to also be intoxicated.

He was charged with second-degree Burglary (felony) and Driving While Intoxicated. He was arraigned in the Town of Remsen Court and was remanded to the Oneida County Jail on no bail. The State Police were assisted by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office in this investigation.
