(Wampsville, NY – Nov. 25, 2013)) Investigators from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested two people on Nov. 22.
Investigators observed a vehicle that was involved in a suspicious transaction with three subjects in the City of Oneida. The investigators stopped the vehicle and found a male driver and a female passenger to be in possession of illegal narcotics, an illegal public benefit card and a sum of cash in excess of $900.
Investigators arrested Russell J. King, 32 of Oneida and Crystal G. Havener, 36, also of Oneida.
King was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle (unclassified misdemeanor), third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance in (B Felony) and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (A Misdemeanor).
Havener was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana (violation), criminal use of a benefit card (A misdemeanor), third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (B Felony) and (3) counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance (A Misdemeanors).
King and Havener were arraigned at the Town of Lincoln Court and both were remanded to the Madison County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash / $25,000 bond.
Further arrests are pending.
