4-H(Watertown, NY- Dec. 2013) The Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Jefferson County, in partnership with the Watertown Tractor Supply Company (TSC) store, have been recognized for winning the “Class Champion” award for meeting the company goals during the 4-H/TSC Fall 2012 Paper Clover Promotion.

Local 4-H youth, with the assistance of store employees at the Watertown TSC store, had at least 15% of all transactions include a 4-H Paper Clover purchase and will be presented with a ribbon from 4-H to recognize this achievement.

The 4-H/TSC Paper Clover Campaign is a nationwide, in-store fundraiser that benefits 4-H programming in the communities where a TSC store is located. The fall campaign raised over $627,200 that supports 4-H on the local, state, and national level.

“The money raised goes to youth programs throughout the county, which benefits them in developing life skills they will use in their futures no matter where it leads them,” said Kevin Jordan, Executive Director for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County.

The effort has provided direct support for local camps, after-school programs and other activities, and has granted scholarships to these events that youth can explore their interests in everything from animal science to robotics. In Jefferson County, the Paper Clover funds have gone to support local 4-H youth development and programming.
