(Utica, NY – Jan. 2014) It is no secret that computers and internet access is available at public libraries. What many do not realize is the computer training available as well. Utica Public Library is offering free computer classes for all skill levels. Private tutoring sessions are also available. Registration is required.

Classes for February include:

· Tutor Lab   (Feb. 1, 15 and 19, 9:45 A.M. – 12:00)

Need personal assistance from someone computer savvy? Sign up for a private 45 minute time slot.

· Intro to Excel 2010   (Feb. 3/5/7, 3:30-5:00 P.M.)

This is a three-day course on Excel fundamentals like creating spreadsheets or inventories.

· Keyboarding   (Feb. 6, 10:30 A.M.- 12:00)

Learn to type or improve your typing skills with an easy to follow program.

· Intro to the Internet (Feb. 8, 10:00 A.M. – 12:00)

This class is designed for beginners who want to understand the basics of web browsing, filling out online forms, and other useful tips and tricks.

· Intro to PowerPoint 2010 (Feb. 12 and 13, 10:30 A.M. – 12:00)

This two-day class will address the basics of creating professional presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.

· Online Library Account   (Feb. 22, 10:30 A.M. – 12:00)

Learn how to access your library account online to renew books, place holds, change your pin,and search the Mid York Library System collection.

· Advanced Excel   (Feb. 24/26/28, 3:30-5:00 P.M.)

Learn to do graphs, complex formulas, sorting, and more formatting features of Excel.

All classes are held at 303 Genesee Street, on the fourth floor of the library in the computer training center. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn new skills.
