(Herkimer, Oneida County, NY – Jan. 2014) Building on the success of the Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority’s “RecycleOne, One and Done” single stream recycling program, the Authority is introducing a new program, RecycleOne Business Recycling Program, for local businesses and industries. The program includes an updated Business Recycling Program Guide, free on-site waste reviews and training, and other money saving tools and resources to help increase business recycling in Oneida and Herkimer Counties.
“The Authority’s mission and goal is to preserve the environment through integrated recovery and disposal while managing the region’s waste in an environmentally sound, cost-effective, efficient and safe manner. The new RecycleOne Business Recycling Program is economically advantageous and environmentally sound. Under the program, businesses and industries can benefit from lower costs for waste removal and increased revenue from recycling,” said David Lupinski, Authority Director of Recycling.
The RecycleOne Business Recycling Program also includes a voluntary RecycleOne Business Certification Program which recognizes businesses for taking extra steps to reduce solid waste, increase recycling and save energy. The Certification requires an on-site review from Authority staff to verify that specific solid waste management, recycling and energy reduction criteria have been achieved. If the criteria have been achieved, the Authority will issue the facility or business an official RecycleOne Business Certification.
Businesses that obtain RecycleOne Business Certification will receive the following:
- RecycleOne Business Certificate and Certified RecycleOne Business decal to display.
- Certification letter highlighting waste reduction and recycling practices.
- Digital RecycleOne Business logo for use on company letterhead, websites and e-mail signatures.
- Recognition on the Authority’s RecycleOne Business website and highlighted in future Authority press releases.
- Quarterly emails with waste reduction and recycling information and tips.
- Eligibility for the Authority’s annual Recycling Champion Award.
