(Hamilton, NY – Jan. 2014) The 2013-14 NBT Bank Children’s Matinee Series kicks off for the spring at Hamilton Theater Saturday, Feb. 1, at 12:30 p.m., with the newly released family favorite Smurfs 2. Take home a Smurf treat before the movie!
Thanks to NBT Bank, in partnership with individual film sponsors and campus partners, admission to all films in the series is free for children and adults. This marks the 10th year of the children’s series.
“We are extremely grateful to NBT Bank, and to our individual film sponsors, for making this series available to the community,” said Hamilton Theater’s Chuck Fox.
According to Fox, nearly 3,600 children and family members from Norwich to Brookfield to Cazenovia to Oneida and all communities in between enjoyed the series last year.
Saturday children’s films feature a special highlight to complement the movie. This spring’s schedule will include animals from Spring Farms Cares, a martial arts exhibition by students from Pinney’s American Karate School and a performance by students from Jody Lynn’s School of Dance.
The complete schedule includes: Feb 1- Smurfs 2, Feb. 8- Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, Feb.15- Tooth Fairy, Feb. 22- Khumba, Mar. 1- Horton Hears a Who, Mar. 8- Planes, Mar. 15- Hop, Mar. 22- Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted, Mar. 29- Frozen, Apr. 5- Cowgirls n’ Angels.
