(Utica, NY – Feb. 5, 2014) Mayor Robert Palmieri has declared a snow emergency will go into effect at 10 P.
M tonight, Wednesday February 5th, and will remain in effect until further notice. All vehicles parked on City roads must be promptly removed to facilitate safe passage for snow removal and emergency services.
The snow emergency declaration applies to all city streets and roadways with no exceptions as vehicles left on City roads after 10:00 PM are subject to ticketing and towing at the owners expense.
The Department of Public Works (DPW) would like to notify residents that the anticipated snow fall is expected to be the wet and heavy type which makes driving and snow plowing more difficult. DPW will do everything it can to lessen the burden on travelers, but is asking the public for its patience and understanding.
