(Utica, NY – March 18, 2014) Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri announced on March 11 the arrival of two brand new plows that the City acquired through a lease purchase agreement. The plows will be in operation for the next snow storm and will greatly enhance the capacity of the City’s aging fleet.
The plows that were purchased also convert into dump trucks so it can be utilized all year round and serve multiple purposes.
In addition to these plows; police vehicles, ambulances’ and IT equipment are included in the lease purchase agreement, which is directly included in the Mayor’s budget proposal and tax increase.
“It is important that people understand that we are being effective and efficient with their hard earned tax dollars and that their money is being spent appropriately,” Palmieri said. “The purchase of these items is an investment in our City and will enhance our resident’s quality of life and help deliver more proactive and efficient services that they expect and deserve.”
