(Lysander, NY – May 6, 2014) At approximately 2 p.m. State Police in Lysander responded to a one vehicle School Bus personal injury auto accident on Patchett Road, in the Town of Lysander.
A Baldwinsville High School bus was traveling eastbound on Patchett Road, one mile west of River Road, when the driver, Star B. Landers, age 64, drifted over to the right and drove onto the shoulder. She then over-corrected, crossed over the westbound lane and drove off the north shoulder of the roadway. The bus rolled once and came to rest, facing west, on its wheels.
Landers and three of the five high school student passengers on the bus received mostly minor lacerations and contusions. However two students sustained concussions, one of whom is currently in surgery for a laceration underneath her right eye. All were treated at Upstate Hospital in Syracuse. Parents of all victims were notified by school personnel.
