(Earlville, NY- Aug. 2014) Can theater that is more than 130 years old still be relevant to folks in the 21st century?
Folks in the central New York community are keeping a tradition alive and banding together in rehearsals to bring another popular production of Gilbert and Sullivan to the historic Earlville Opera House stage directed by Chris Bord and John Krause.
Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Mikado is a romantic musical comedy that follows the story of a young prince who hides his identity as a peasant to follow true love. The tale of love gets caught up in a topsy-turvy political intrigue that borders on the ridiculous.
The production takes place Aug. 8, 9 and 10.
Tickets are $15 for the general public, $13 for EOH members and $10 for students.
