YMCA new(Rome, NY – Jan. 2015)  The YMCA of the Greater Tri Valley is now selling tickets for the 2015 Dudley “Gig” Rowland Raffle to raise money for the Y’s Annual Heroes Campaign.  Tickets are on sale for $20.  Only 500 tickets will be sold.  The drawing will be held on April 4 at the Don Connelly Determination Celebration to be held at Vernon Downs Resort and Casino. Winners need not be present to win.

The raffle, held annually in Rowland’s name, keeps his memory alive in the hearts and minds of the YMCA family.  Rowland, born in Rome, was active in many civic organizations prior to his death in August 2009 including the YMCA.  He led a merger with the Women’s Community Center and the YMCA forming the Rome Family Y.

The 2015 Dudley “Gig” Rowland Raffle will have three prizes.  First place is a $2,500 Vacation Voucher sponsored by Bruce Stewart, DDS.  Second place is a Weekend for Two in Lake Placid, NY sponsored by Strategic Financial Services.  Third place is a Wine Tour Four Ten with Limo Service sponsored by Oneida Savings.  All net proceeds from the raffle will raise much needed monies for the Y’s Annual Heroes Campaign which enables the Y to directly help those in need and change the lives of local children and their families.

Tickets can be purchased in person at the Rome Family Y located at 301 W. Bloomfield St. in Rome, the Oneida Family Y at 701 Seneca St. in Oneida and at the New Hartford School Age Child Care Center located at 25 Oxford St. in New Hartford.  You can also purchase tickets over the phone with a credit card by calling the Rome Family Y at (315) 336-3500 or the Oneida Family Y at (315) 363-7788.
