(Mohawk Valley, NY – Feb. 2015) The Chamber Alliance of the Mohawk Valley has announced its slate of officers for the 2015 fiscal year. All are volunteers who take time away from their professional and personal lives to serve on behalf of the regional business community. Pictures attached, plus CAMV logo.
CAMV is an association of independent chambers of commerce and affiliate partner organizations that meet monthly for information sharing, mutual support, advocacy, education, and joint planning. Established in 1997, CAMV’s purpose is to represent and promote the collective interest of the chambers of commerce of the Mohawk Valley—that geographic area which includes, but is not limited to, Herkimer County, Oneida County, and Madison County.
Approximately 2,500 Mohawk Valley businesses, organizations, individuals, and professional firms are represented by the alliance chambers and affiliate partners.
Raymond J. Durso, Jr., President
Ray is Executive Director of The Genesis Group, where he oversees the day to day operations, and works with the Genesis volunteers and board of trustees to execute the organization’s mission. The Genesis Group is a civic organization that unites business and community leaders working to advance regional economic, social and cultural interests, and to foster unity and cooperation in the Mohawk Valley region. The Genesis Group office is located at SUNY Polytechnic Institute. Ray is a resident of Utica.
Marianne Buttenschon, First Vice President
Marianne is co-owner of Buttenschon Christmas Tree Farm in Marcy, and represents the Marcy Chamber of Commerce on the Chamber Alliance. She is also the Dean of the Social Science & Business Information Sciences at Mohawk Valley Community College. She resides in Marcy.
Michele Smith, Second Vice President
Michele is Account Executive for Hummel’s Office Plus, located in Mohawk, where she is responsible for developing new business as well as maintaining existing relationships within the CNY area, primarily Rome, Camden, Oneida, Vernon, Verona, Sherrill, Westmoreland, and Clinton. Hummel’s is a 4th generation, family owned company based in Central New York, dealing in the sales and distribution of office products, furniture, machines, equipment and other items. She resides in New Hartford and represents the Greater Oneida Chamber on the Alliance.
William R. Gray, Jr., Secretary/Treasurer
Bill is a retired Unites States Air Force officer and is a member of board of directors of the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce. He resides in Rome.
