A Robert Frost poetry reading will accompany this year’s performance
(Cazenovia, NY – April 2015) The Cazenovia College Chorale will present their spring semester performance on Wednesday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m. at Cazenovia United Methodist Church. The concert, directed by Peter Ciarelli with William Verity on piano is free, and the public is encouraged to attend.
The Aquarius String Quartet opens the event with a selection by William Hofeldt. The Chorale, comprised of students and members of the Cazenovia community, will perform Francesco Durante’s Magnificat. The Baroque choral composition was composed circa 1750 and is based on the liturgical text “My Soul Doth Magnify the Lord.”
Also programmed for this season’s event is Frostiana, a set of seven selections set to the poetry of Robert Frost and composed by esteemed American choral composer Randall Thompson. Stewart Weisman, associate professor, criminal justice and homeland security studies, will recite the poems and the Chorale will be accompanied by a small orchestra of musicians from both Cazenovia and the Central New York area.
