Caz library(Cazenovia, NY – Oct. 2015) Alzheimer’s:  The first in a series of three presentations by the Alzheimer’s Association, Central NY Chapter, will be given at the Cazenovia Public Library beginning with “Living with Alzheimer’s for Early Stage Caregivers” on Monday, Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to noon.

In the early stage of Alzheimer’s disease, families face new questions as they adjust. What does the diagnosis mean? What kinds of plans need to be made? What resources are available to help?

Come to the Library Community Room to hear practical answers to the questions that arise in the early stage. Hear from those directly affected and learn what you can do to cope with the changes that come with an early-stage diagnosis.

Please register for “Living with Alzheimer’s for Early Stage Caregivers” at 472-4201 Ext. 100.

Mark your calendar:  “Living with Alzheimer’s for Middle Stage Caregivers” on November 16th and “Living with Alzheimer’s for Late Stage Caregivers on December 14th.

Breast Cancer: October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and every year the two most frequently repeated facts are the importance of early detection and the importance of breast cancer screening.

Women will have the opportunity to learn what they can do to reduce their risk of breast cancer on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. in the Library Community Room.

At that time, Wendy Hunt from the Oneida County Health Department’s Cancer Services Program of Oneida Herkimer and Madison Counties will provide a presentation about breast cancer to include what puts a woman at risk for breast cancer, what can women do to reduce their risk, and what are the recommendations for regular breast cancer screening.

These presentations are free and open to the public.
