Hamilton Public Library News

By Hilary Virgil, Library Director
(Hamilton, NY – Oct. 2015) The Hamilton Public Library and Hamilton Village Real Estate are excited to offer the Literary Pumpkin display and contest again this year. It’s not too late to participate–you’re invited to decorate a small pumpkin to look like your favorite book character. Feel free to work alone, with your friends, family, or co-workers to decorate a pumpkin. Please do not bring any carved, cut, or hollowed pumpkins.
These “literary pumpkins” should be brought to the Hamilton Public Library during regular Library hours no later than Monday, Oct. 26. Voting for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place People’s Choice Awards will take place from Oct. 27 through Oct. 31 (be sure to vote) and the winners will be announced on Monday, Nov. 2. Pumpkins should then be picked up from the Library no later than Saturday, Nov.7.
On Saturday, Oct. 24 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. local author Art Zimmer will be available at the Library for the purchase and signing of his new biography – Making It Count- From A to Z The Life and Times of Art Zimmer.
Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library. A portion of the book sales will be donated to the Hamilton Public Library.
