(Constantia, NY – Dec. 7, 2015) State Police in Hastings arrested Rusty S. Hayes, 25, of 541 Salt Road, Constantia after a report of shots being fired at the Dollar General in Constantia.
The investigation determined that Hayes was attacked by another male subject after Hayes had exited the store. Hayes retaliated by firing a 16 gauge shotgun loaded with birdshot at the vehicle of his attacker while he drove away, causing damage to the vehicle.
Hayes was charged with one count of first-degree Reckless Endangerment, class “D” felony and second-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, class “C” felony.
Hayes was arraigned in the Town of Constantia Court where he was remanded to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail, $10,000 bond.
The investigation is continuing and more charges are pending.
