(Morrisville, NY – Dec. 2015) The Canastota Community Band will present a Holiday Concert Saturday Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. at the Crouse Community Center, South Street in Morrisville.
The program will consist of traditional Christmas selections including an audience sing-a-long and plenty of holiday fun.
As part of the celebration, the band will honor their “Director Emeritus” Paul Shiffer who led the band for 17 years and retired this fall. The band invites his past music students, former members of his band and friends of Shiffer to join them in honoring a man who has dedicated his entire life to music.
The Canastota Community Band is comprised of approximately 30 musicians ranging in age from middle school to age 80 plus. They perform in parades and concerts throughout the year.
