Utica’s free family-friendly pop culture convention returns to the Utica Public Library Saturday, Aug. 20. Aug. 22, 2015, nearly 700 people attended the Utica Public Library’s first pop culture convention, FANDEMICON. It was a full day of family-friendly fandom fun. This year’s convention will be packed with many things for local fanboys and fangirls to geek out about. Stay up-to-date and let us know what you are a fan of at
Stay up-to-date and let us know what you are a fan of at www.facebook.com/FANDEMICON and on Twitter, @FANDEMICON. Be sure to use the hashtag, #FANDEMICON. FANDEMICON 2016 will feature activities, games and events for all ages, as well as a great line-up of guests, including video game developer Vicarious Visions, which is known for the Skylanders franchise; comics inker Charles Barnett III; and Chris Giarrusso, the creator of Mini Marvels and G-MAN!
One of the biggest changes to the convention this year is that the Exhibit Hall will be in Library’s Gallery space, in the Library itself where the rest of the convention activities will be taking place. FANDEMICON is actively seeking Exhibitors that create and sell nerdy, geeky, and pop culture related items, from handcrafted goods, to toys, to games, to comics, and more. As a reminder, exhibitors FANDEMICON is a family-friendly event, so all items being sold should adhere to a “PG-13” rating. In addition, no weapons (real, toy, prop, or otherwise) will be allowed on premises or to be sold.
FANDEMICON needs you! The convention is a big undertaking and we would appreciate any and all help in the form of volunteers and sponsorships, both monetary and in-kind. Sponsors will be featured on the con’s website and in the program all attendees receive during the convention.
