Money GrantsFinance Committee Chairman Councilman Edward Bucciero, announced that his committee will hold official community-based public input meetings throughout the city over the next several weeks regarding the proposed 2016-17 City budget.

“The members of the Finance Committee felt very strongly that scheduled budget meetings should be held throughout the different sections of the city,” Bucciero said. “Community-based meetings make it more convenient and perhaps less intimidating for the public to attend, therefore providing the Committee the opportunity to obtain welcomed public input on the difficult financial issues surrounding the adoption of the 2014-15 budget. also gives the Committee a chance to explain the budget process, and more importantly, to clarify the condition of the City’s current finances.”

Mayor Robert Palmieri and his department heads will be joining Bucciero and the Finance Committee for these public meetings to help address any questions or concerns from the public.

A final budget meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, March 14 (South Utica Neighborhood Association) at the Notre Dame Elementary School (formerly Our Lady of Lourdes), Barton Avenue entrance.
