The Children’s Theatre Workshop at Colgate University will perform an abbreviated version of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Performances will take place in Colgate University’s Brehmer Theatre at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 7; Tuesday, April 12; and Tuesday, April 26.
The play, a light-hearted comedy, depicts the happy adventures of two couples entangled in romance. The city of Athens as it prepares for festivities, a forest populated with fairies, and the presence of a group of amateur actors rehearsing a play provide a string of whimsical complications the four lovers have to face and overcome.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream is suitable for children in elementary school and older. Admission is free. To make reservations email TheaterBoxOffice@colgate.edu or phone 315.228.7641.
