(Norwich, NY – March 2013) The public is invited to the next free film showing of the current annual “Second Tuesday Film Series” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, in the Founders Room at the United Church of Christ, 11 West Main, Norwich.
This screening, another educational documentary on a current issue, is titled, “Tipping Point; the End of Oil.” It shows how the biggest construction project on the planet is changing a clean Canadian landscape into a vast industrial wasteland: easy oil is gone, and the age of tar sands extraction has begun. Permitting of the controversial Keystone pipeline and drilling for natural gas in tight shales in this country are related issues.
The film series sponsors, Chenango County Peace Action and Chenango Community Action for Renewable Energy (C-CARE), offer attendees a light supper at 6:30 before the show and encourage discussion afterwards. Please note parking is available on the street, in the Hayes Street and County Office Building Parking lots, not in the church’s lot behind it.
