(Herkimer, NY – March 2013) Herkimer County Community College’s Travel Club members and Travel & Tourism: Hospitality and Events Management students recently traveled to Port Bayonne, NJ to participate in a familiarization tour of the cruise ship, Explorer of the Seas.
The students, invited by Deb Lawendowski ’98, an HCCC alumnus and owner of Cruise Wizards in Whitesboro; and Lori Nojaim, Business Development Manager of Royal Caribbean International, enjoyed a private ship inspection and luncheon. Students had the opportunity to tour the Royal Caribbean ship Explorer of the Seas, attend a question and answer lunch with a Royal Caribbean sales manager, and debark.
Travel Club President Adam Hrywnak, Milford, NY, a Travel & Tourism: Hospitality and Events Management major, helped arrange the trip. The students were accompanied by Debra Sutton, Associate Professor of Travel & Tourism: Hospitality & Events Management.
