(Herkimer, NY – April 8, 2013) Herkimer County Community College has named two student-athletes to the Green and Gold Club for March 2013.
The Male Athlete of the Month is Jon Feiler, Men’s Basketball, St. James, NY. A Liberal Arts & Sciences: General Studies major, Feiler is a tri-captain for the Generals. Coach Matt Lee said, “Jon’s leadership and determination has led us to our third place finish in the Country and Number One in Region III. He is turning into a very versatile player,” Coach Lee added. “We are expecting big things from him in the future.”
The Female Athlete of the Month is Women’s Lacrosse player Ariel Montes, a Liberals Arts & Sciences: General Studies major from New Rochelle, NY. Coach Dianna Ste-Marie said “Ariel had nine goals, three assists, 23 ground balls and 14 draw controls in three games. She is dominant when it comes to draw controls and ground balls. Ariel works very hard at all times. She pushes herself for the good of the team in all games and practices even while fighting injuries. She is an all-around player, making it easy to put her anywhere on the field with confidence,” Ste-Marie concluded.
HCCC’s Green and Gold Club honors an outstanding male and female athlete each month.
