(Clinton, NY – Aug. 2013) On Aug. 8 the Clinton Farmers’ Market will host over 60 Antique Franklin Automobiles on the Village Green. The automobiles will be accompanied by 200 people dressed in clothing of the period.
The first Franklins were manufactured in Syracuse and took two months to complete and cost over $ 1,100. They were the first automobile in United States with a 4 cylinder air cooled engine.
Franklins were built from 1902 to 1931 when the company went bankrupt.
The Franklin Automobiles will be available for viewing by the public from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Village Green and Alexander Hamilton Institute’s front lawn.
