(Carthage, NY – Aug. 23, 2013) On Aug. 23 State Police in Carthage arrested 22-year- old Nathanael F. Garrison of Watertown for second-degree “Reckless” Assault (D Felony) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A Misdemeanor).
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Jan. 22, 2013 in the Town of Wilna, Jefferson County.
Investigation revealed that during the incident, a 2 month old infant was subjected to scalding bath water. The infant subsequently received second degree burns to approximately 45 percent of the body, and was later treated by the Golisano Children’s Hospital at Upstate University Hospital.
The infant was later released and has recovered from the injuries.
Garrison was arraigned in the Village of Carthage Court, and was remanded to the Jefferson County Public Safety Building in lieu of $10,000 cash / $20,000 secured bond.
