4-H(Herkimer, NY – Sept. 2013) Want to learn more about the 4-H Program in Herkimer County?  Please come to our Annual  4-H Organizational Meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 12 noon to 2 pm or from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Herkimer County Extension Office in Herkimer.

Herkimer County 4-H is a healthy and vibrant youth program designed for children ages 5 to 19 years old.  Youth can have the opportunity to participate in activities and workshops throughout the calendar year as well as be involved in various projects such as photography, plant science, animals (rabbits, swine, dogs and so much more), and robotics just to name a few.

There are more than 60 potential project areas in Herkimer County 4-H.  Yet another opportunity for youth involved in 4-H is the various regional, state, and national 4-H events that take place during their 4-H career.  4-H is an excellent supplement to any educational curriculum with plenty of hands-on opportunities.

If you have an interest in learning more about 4-H please join us on Tuesday, October 1, at the Herkimer County Cornell Cooperative Extension Office, 5657 State Route 5, Herkimer.  An informational session will be held for adults that will focus on getting youth involved and enrolled in the 4-H program as well as getting adults involved as 4-H volunteers.

If you would like more information about the 4-H Organizational Meeting please contact the 4-H Staff at Cornell Cooperative Extension Herkimer County at (315) 866-7920 or email herkimer@cornell.edu.
