Alash(Town of Nelson, NY – Oct. 2013) The Nelson Odeon brings you the world when they welcome Alash, a band made up of throat singers and multi-instrumentalists from Tuva (a tiny country north of Mongolia).

Alash will perform Friday Nov. 1 at 8 p.m. (Doors open at 7:30).

Their singing is ancient, harkening back to a time when human beings were still inventing languages. When they start singing, listeners fall silent, wondering how four human voices can seem to split into an infinite number. This is a very unique opportunity to hear beauty from the other side of the planet.

The Odeon is located at 4035 Nelson Road  just north of Route 20.

  1. Please note that Tuva is not a country but a small republic of Russia.

You do not want to miss this opportunity though. Tuvan throat singing is amazing and you won’t have many opportunities in life to see a group like Alash perform.
