(Floyd, NY – Nov. 25, 2013) On Nov. 20, Investigator Casey Cook, SP Marcy BCI, concluded a one month investigation into a residential burglary that occurred to a residence located on McKern Road in the Town of Floyd.
A home was broken in to and numerous tools, electronics, and jewelry were stolen. Arrested was Thomas P. Washburn Jr., 21, of 8631 Soule Road, Holland Patent. He was charged with second-degree Burglary (felony) and fourth-degree Grand Larceny (felony). Throughout the course of the investigation, it was also learned that Washburn had been pawning numerous boxes of name brand flea and tick animal medication at area pawn shops.
Subsequent investigation revealed that Washburn had been shoplifting these medications from Pet Supplies Plus, Petsmart, and Walmart in the Town of New Hartford.
Washburn was arraigned in the Town of Floyd Court and was committed to the Oneida County Jail on $26,000 bail.
Additional charges are forthcoming in the City of Utica Court for fourth-degree Criminal Possession of Stolen Property and first-degree Falsifying Business Records, relative to the possession of the stolen animal medications.
