Hamilton Public Library News

Hilary Virgil for webBy Hilary Virgil, Library Director

(Hamilton, NY – Nov. 2013) During this season of Thanksgiving, we would like to pause to thank you, our many patrons and local government officials from Hamilton, Lebanon, Madison, and Brookfield for your continued support of the Hamilton Public Library.

We have faced some significant challenges to our operating funding over the past few years and it has been truly heartwarming to experience your support of the many public services, resources, and opportunities to connect with others, made possible through this public library.  We are both pleased and proud to continue to serve as a significant community staple in this way.

Our library staff and board of trustees are genuinely grateful for the many ways you’ve demonstrated how much this library means to you, your family, your neighbors, and this community.  It is so gratifying to know you continue to value and support our role here.

We realize, too, that it can often be confusing to understand the various sources for our library funding and why they each play a unique and critical role in continuing our operations and special programs.  If you are curious about this, please contact library director Hilary Virgil who will be happy to arrange a time to meet with you and provide a more in-depth overview.

Additional information about library resources, programs and policies, as well as access to our online services, is available through the library website http://midyorklib.org/hamilton/.  Follow us on Facebook for up-to-date information about programs, special events, and other general library-related information:  http://www.facebook.com/HPL.books .

The library is normally open Monday-Friday, 10am – 7pm, and Saturday, 10am – 1pm. Please visit or call the library (315) 824-3060 during these hours for assistance. The book drop at the front of the building is always open for your convenience.
