(Marcellus, NY – Jan. 2014) From Jan. 11 through Feb. 28, photographs by Skaneateles photographer and designer Stacia Landsberg will be on display in the Art Gallery at Baltimore Woods Nature Center, 4007 Bishop Hill Road, Marcellus.  An artist reception for the show, “Nature Standing Still” will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. The exhibit and reception are open to the public with no admission or parking fee. Photographs and greeting cards will be for sale.

The exhibit will include photos inspired by quiet moments in nature.

Says Stacia Landsberg:

“My photography is inspired mostly by whatever I see around me at any given moment.  I always have my camera with me for this reason.  I often say of my work that I ‘make a picture rather than take a picture,’ at times seeing what’s there in a different context than what typically appears. I visualize my subject in a conceptual, almost storytelling way, utilizing its color and graphic quality to make it more unique.  Whether close up or at a distance, my strength is in finding an element in something to make the viewer think and feel, to see something that is perhaps ordinary from a new perspective.”

Landsberg’s graphic, conceptual imagery inspired her to create a line of greeting cards with the mission of making art available to all.  Her cards, sold both nationally and locally, include Skaneateles Seasons cards, notecards and gift enclosures.  Her work is also available in larger sizes, matted and framed.  She is dedicated to donating her work to a variety of local projects and charities. Landsberg resides in Skaneateles with her family.
