(Marcy, NY – March 28, 2014) On March 26 the New York State Police BCI in Marcy arrested Thomas M. Chamberlain, age 33, of Vernon, for one count of Scheme to Defraud in the Second Degree (class “A” misdemeanor of NYS Penal Law). Investigation revealed that Thomas Chamberlain approached people he was familiar with at their homes, falsely portrayed himself, and as a result unlawfully obtained money from more than one person.
Chamberlain was released on appearance ticket returnable April 3 at 9 a.m. in Rome City Court.
