(Oneida, NY – June 2014) Members of Boy Scout Troop 2 collected $1,029.55 in deposits from Cash for Cans for the bottles and cans they gathered from the community on April 26 as part of the Oneida Public Library Capital Campaign’s “Drive for Five.”
Marty Blair, pictured on the right, owner of Cash for Cans on Glenwood Ave., presents a check for that amount to Lillian White (center), vice-president of the Oneida Public Library Board of Trustees, for the New Library. Standing by (left to right) are members of Boy Scout Troop 2: Taff Smith, Robert Kohler, Jacob Stearns, Zak Kristan, Philip White and Caleb Stearns.
Thanks to the cooperation of Cash for Cans, supporters of Oneida Public Library can still redeem bottles and cans at Cash for Cans, at 6 cents apiece, and have the proceeds donated directly to the library.
