(Utica, NY – June 2014) From July 3 to 29 the Utica Public Library will host “Linked by a Common Purpose in Art.”  This 2-person exhibition will display the works of Maria Grazia Facchinetti and Maria Rizzo.

A reception will be held July 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Rizzo will give a brief presentation and Q&A at 6:30 p.m.

Facchinetti and Rizzo are established artists from Carnate, Italy.  These women are linked by a lifelong friendship and a common purpose in art:  creating resonant pieces of work that speak to our humanity.

Maria Facchinetti ArtFacchinetti uses a special resin of her own invention to enhance her abstract works.

Maria Rizzo ArtRizzo’s paintings depict trees as emotional self-portraits.  Together their exhibition creates a combination of light, color and symbolism.
