Ringo Starr casts his handprints for the new Turning Stone Hands of Fame exhibit, before his June 25 concert performance at Turning Stone Resort Casino.
(Verona, NY – July 7, 2014) Rock and roll superstar Ringo Starr, who turns 74 today, created the inaugural handprint display for Turning Stone’s new Hands of Fame exhibit following his memorable performance at Turning Stone Resort Casino’s Event Center last month. Launched on Starr’s birthday with his initial display, Turning Stone’s Hands of Fame will honor and memorialize the visits of an array of musicians, performers and celebrities who appear at the year-round destination resort.
The handprints of Starr and other luminaries featured in Turning Stone’s Hands of Fame will be displayed at the resort’s The GIG at Exit 33, a 51,000 square foot multi-venue live entertainment complex featuring ideal acoustics, vintage furnishings and iconic pop culture imagery. One of the preeminent live music venues in all of Central New York, The GIG’s unique and appealing vibe attracts top local and regional bands with live performances every weekend.
“Turning Stone is incredibly excited and honored to launch our Hands of Fame display with the handprints of beloved rock and roll hero Ringo Starr,” said Oneida Indian Nation Representative Ray Halbritter. “This distinctive new exhibit in The GIG will celebrate the impressive and diverse roster of A-list stars that appear throughout the year at Turning Stone. We look forward to seeing the collection grow and expand alongside Turning Stone Resort Casino for many years to come.”
