Held at Center for Family Life and Recovery, Inc.’s Utica location Aug. 9

(Utica, NY – Aug. 2014) CFLR, Inc. has a youth led, adult supported group that works with Oneida County student’s grades 7-12 on making environmental changes related to alcohol and other drugs in the community.

The group is called Youth That Cares (YTC).  YTC works to reduce binge and heavy drinking among youth ages 16-20 to help reduce their exposure to alcohol marketing.  YTC will work with convenience stores to reduce alcohol industry youth targeted marketing practices. We are currently working on administering a sticker shock campaign to local stores. Our next meeting will be on August 9th from 10am-12pm. We will be discussing when and where we will be targeting the sticker shock, as well as what our next steps are going to be in the community.

The group meets once a month for two hours at CFLR Inc.’s home office on 502 Court Street, Utica NY, Suite 401.   The meetings are normally held on Saturdays.  Some events may be held on other days and some travel time may take place during the week.  We encourage enthusiastic, compassionate, and dedicated youth to come be a part of the group and help make environmental changes throughout Oneida County.
