(New Hartford, NY – March 2015) Have you bought your share of Girl Scout cookies but just can’t say no to those girls asking for your support? Then ask about the Gift of Caring program!
The council Gift of Caring program allows you to buy cookies which are then donated to an organization. Since 2013 the Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways has been donating cookies to the Military Family Assistance Center. The center shares the donated cookies with Veteran groups, military members and family members throughout New York State.
Last year, we donated 1,100 cases of cookies to the Military Family Assistance Center, that’s over 13,000 boxes of deliciousness and skills for girls!
Local troops may also choose to instead support their own Troop Gift of Caring program, where they choose the organization that will receive the donated cookies. So make sure you ask about the Gift of Caring program this year!
Cookies are $4 a box and can be purchased as girls set up cookie booths at businesses throughout the area. To find out where you can find cookies near you, visit www.girlscoutcookies.org or download the free cookie finder app for iPhone and Android users.
Become A Girl Scout Volunteer
(Rome, NY) Do you want to make a difference in a girl’s life? Would you like to make lifelong friends? You can by becoming a Girl Scout volunteer!
Find out more information about the local Girl Scout programs and all of the available volunteer opportunities at a Girl Scout information night for girls and adults on Thursday, April 9 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Church, 1807 Bedford Street in Rome.
During the session there will be fun activities for girls while adults learn all about the Girl Scout program. In order to expand area troops and offer the Girl Scout program to more girls, we need your help. As girls take part in Girl Scouting they are discovering more about themselves, connecting as a group, taking action to help the community, and learning leadership skills.
All girls attending must be accompanied by an adult.
