Oz-Characters(Chittenango, NY- May 2015) “Oz Showstoppers,” the 38th annual Oz-Stravaganza! festival in Chittenango is less than a month away with the three day festival kicking off Friday June 5 and running through Sunday June 7. The grand Oz parade steps off at 2 p.m. Saturday June 6 at the intersection of Routes 5 and 13 in downtown Chittenango and heads north to the Oneida Savings Bank. There is still time to enter units in the parade. Applications may be downloaded at: www.oz-stravaganza.com. Ken Page, the original Lion in The Wiz on Broadway will serve as grand marshal.

Time is running out to enter the annual Oz coloring and Royal Historian of Oz writing contests. Forms are available on the website and at a variety of Chittenango area locations including the US post office, Focalpoint Credit Union, All Things Oz Museum and Burger King.

Applications for early reduced rate registration for the annual Munchkin Mile Kid’s Run and the Toto Toddler Trot are available for download on the Oz website.

The ever popular Oz costume contest will place in Stickles Park Saturday June 6 prior to the parade. Check out the rules and details on the web and start making those Oz costumes.

Oz-Stravaganza! is a family event. Some of the many events include: fireworks, special Oz guests, autograph sessions, crafters, Oz memorabilia, free entertainment, free Oz programming, amusement rides, Oz authors, Oz artists, silent auctions and more.
