Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney stands with Parker Family at highway dedication ceremony for Sgt. Eli Parker
(Camden, NY – Oct. 2015) Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney (R,C—New Hartford) recently attended a highway dedication to name a portion of Route 13, in the village of Camden, the “Sergeant Elisha R. Parker Veterans Memorial Highway,” to honor Sgt. Parker, a 21 year old combat engineer in the US Marine Crops, who was on killed May 4, 2006 in the Al Anbar Province in Iraq while severing his third tour of duty.
“It is truly an honor to participate in this highway dedication ceremony to remember the service and sacrifice of Sgt. Elisha Parker. It is vitally important that we honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our great nation, and today we have done just that,” said Tenney. “Though the Parkers will forever bear the loss of their son, this small tribute will ensure that Sgt. Parker is honored and remembered by all in our community for his bravery, patriotism and self-less service as a Marine.”
