(Oneida, NY – Oct. 2015) The Greater Oneida Kallet Civic Center is now displaying art works by Liverpool artist Cynthia Wells.

Wells earned her BA in Elementary Education and Art from SUNY Fredonia and her Masters in Art Education from Syracuse University. She was an art educator in the Baldwinsville School District from 1971-2005 and also served as an adjunct instructor for the Department of Art Education at Syracuse University from 1992-2007.

Wells exhibit includes a variety of media such as watercolor, acrylic, color photography, mixed media, and art quilts.

“My work focuses on everything I see, feel, and experience from the smallest object to the wonders of the natural world,” Wells said. “Working in a number of media such as acrylics, photography, printmaking, mixed media, clay, and fibers, allows me to re-present the unseen presence, invite the viewer to “walk with me” into places, or make a personal connection with an image.”

Wells is a past president of the New York State Art Teachers Association and continues to be involved with the organization on the local and state levels. Her other affiliations are with the CNY Art Guild, Thumbstall Quilt Guild, and the Marcellus Modern Quilt Club. Her work will be exhibited in the gallery through Nov. 8.

The Jessie A. Griffing Gallery at the Kallet is open daily for art viewing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free.

Artists who are interested in having work exhibited in the gallery, should contact Carli Rodio at 363-8525.
