(Hamilton, NY – Nov. 2015) Fresh from last year’s successful Kickstarter campaign and tour, versatile indie songstress Lauren Mettler is breaking new ground with her outreach to kids and families.

On Saturday Dec.5  join the Earlville Opera House for an Afternoon with Lauren for a holiday themed performance at 2 p.m. The concert is part of the Earlville Winter Celebration activities. Lauren brings all her skills as a singer-songwriter, performer, and arts educator with folk, blues, and world influences to this new show for young audiences.

Lauren’s voice, nuanced and beguiling, captivates her listeners as she leads them through beautiful ballads, comedic anecdotes, and holiday tunes on guitar, mandolin, ukulele, and penny whistle to celebrate the season.  Her repertoire displays shades of the blues, world music, and is sprinkled with sweet little ditties reminiscent of favorite jazz classics.

The concert is about an hour in length and will be followed by a brief reception with the artist. This is a “pay what you want” event; the Opera House’s way of saying thanks to the community. The Earlville Opera House is wheelchair-accessible with a ramp and a lift.

For more information, or to reserve seats, call 315-691-3550 or order online at www.earlvilleoperahouse.com.

The Opera House is located at 18 East Main St. in Earlville.

This performance is the second of an EOH series of Youth Programs by Young Artists.  EOH put out a call to young artists to create programming for youth and families this past May.  EOH’s goal is to grow interesting work for families on a grassroots level while also making professional opportunities available to young artists.  Call EOH to find out more.
