On February 24, 2016, at approximately 8:47 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 for a traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle, Franluis Morel, 27 of Utica, NY, was found to be in possession of more than two ounces of cocaine. Morel was transported and processed at SP Newburgh, where he was charged with:- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree; a Class B Felony
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree: Intent to Sell; a Class B Felony
Morel was arraigned before the Town of Cornwall Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
