BOCES to hold Spring Open House Wednesday, March 9
BOCES will host a Spring Open House and College Fair from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 9. It will take place at the Career and Technical Education Centers on the New Hartford (4747 Middle Settlement Road), Herkimer (352 Gros Boulevard) and Verona (4937 Spring Road) campuses.
Students, parents, educators and community members from all three BOCES regions will also have an opportunity to meet with representatives from local and regional two- and four-year colleges. Representatives from the BOCES Consortium of Continuing Education will be available to answer questions about adult programs in literacy, nursing, vocational training, certification courses and hobby classes. MOBOCES will also have a College Fair and a Substitute Recruitment Event.
State-of-the-art classrooms and learning laboratories will be open to visitors. Displays of equipment, student projects, presentations and student demonstrations, along with opportunities to meet with CTE teachers, will be included in the evening’s program.
Some of the workshops at the various BOCES include: culinary arts demonstrations, early childhood education, electricity/HVAC demonstrations, conservation, cosmetology and more.
Please note that a snow date is scheduled for Wednesday, March 16, from 6m to 8 p.m. at the same locations.
