The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY announced that the following local residents were among 805 students named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2012 semester:

Full-time students who complete a minimum of 12 credit hours and achieve a semester grade-point average of at least 3.5 with no grades of D, F, Incomplete or Pass/Fail are eligible for inclusion on the Dean’s List.

Area Student Named to Hartwick College Dean’s List

The following area student has been named to the fall term Dean’s List at Hartwick.

Hartwick College junior Brittany Aponte of Syracuse, daughter of Hector Aponte and Sandra Burd. Aponte is majoring in psychology.

Inclusion on Hartwick’s Dean List is an indication of excellent academic work, including the completion of a full course load with at least a 3.5 grade point average based on a 4.0 scale.

Colgate Honors Dean’s list Students

The following students from Colgate University were recipients of the Dean’s Award for academic excellence during the 2012 fall term at Colgate University.

To be eligible for the Dean’s Award, a Colgate student must achieve a minumum 3.30 average while enrolled in at least four courses.

Perfect GPA Lands Local Resident on Fall 2012 Provost’s List at SUNY Oneonta

The following student was named to the SUNY Oneonta Provost’s List for the fall 2012 semester. Of the more than 5,800 undergraduates enrolled at the college, 106 qualified for the fall 2012 Provost’s List by earning a perfect GPA while carrying a course load of at least 12 semester hours.

Local Student Studying Abroad Through St. Lawrence University

The following student is participating in St. Lawrence University’s International Study Program for the spring 2013 semester.

Lindsey P. Wratten of Waterville; Wratten, a member of the class of 2014 at St. Lawrence, is studying in Australia – James Cook University. Wratten graduated from Waterville Jr-Sr HS.

Over 46 percent of St. Lawrence University’s Class of 2012 studied off campus during their undergraduate careers, either in one of its 17 international study programs or programs in the United States.

Local residents make Fall 2012 Dean’s List at SUNY New Paltz

The following local residents were named to the Dean’s List at the State University of New York at New Paltz for the Fall 2012 semester.

Christina Boland is a resident of Manlius, NY. Boland’s major is Sociology.

William Gunger is a resident of Manlius, NY. Gunger’s major is Philosophy.

Dean’s List designation is reserved for students who excel academically and earn at least a 3.3 grade point average in a semester with a full-time course load.

Rurkowski Makes Dean’s List

Stephanie Rurkowski from Manlius, NY is among the 555 students who earned dean’s list honors for the fall 2012 semester at Mount St. Mary’s University.

Stephanie, a freshman at the Mount, achieved dean’s list by maintaining a 3.4 or higher grade point average. Stephanie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Rurkowski.

Cornman Named to Dean’s List

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) has announced that Scott Cornman of Manlius, NY, a junior majoring in robotics engineering, was named to the university’s Dean’s List for academic excellence for the fall 2012 semester.

A total of 1,337 undergraduate students achieved the criteria required for WPI’s fall 2012 Dean’s List. The criteria for the WPI Dean’s List differ from that of most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean’s List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.

“WPI’s academic programs are remarkably rigorous, so being named to the Dean’s List is a testament to hard work, a sharp mind, and a commitment to excellence,” said Provost Eric Overström. “Some of this nation’s best and brightest students come to WPI to learn subjects ranging from engineering to science to business and the humanities, and through our innovative project-based curriculum they conduct professional-level research and solve important problems all over the world. Those named to the Dean’s List have excelled at facing such demanding challenges, and we are exceptionally proud of these outstanding students.”

 SUNY Canton Student Named to Dean’s List

SUNY Canton recently recognized students who excelled academically during the Fall 2012 semester.

“The College’s deans and I are very proud of these students,” said Interim SUNY Canton President Carli C. Schiffner. “They are demonstrating commitment to their education and it is my great pleasure to congratulate them on their success.”

To receive Dean’s List honors, full-time students must receive a GPA of 3.25. Part-Time Honors are awarded to students earning at least a 3.25 GPA on six to 11 credit hours.

Among the students who earned honors for academics were:

Joseph N. Kellar a SUNY Canton Management major from Syracuse was named to the Dean’s List. Kellar is a 2003 graduate of G. Ray Bodley High School.

Local Students Named to Dean’s List at the University of Vermont

The following area students have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester at the University of Vermont:

Alyssa M. Hoyt of Manlius, NY, a senior majoring in Business Administration in the School of Business Administration.

Makenzy M. Smith of Oriskany Falls, NY, a junior majoring in Anthropology in the College of Arts & Sciences.

To be named to the dean’s lists, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.

Local Student Make the Dean’s List at SUNY Buffalo State

The following local student was named to the fall 2012 dean’s list at SUNY Buffalo State. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher and complete a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Chelsea Carney, a resident of Manlius, NY is majoring in Communication Design.

Local Students Named to Dean’s List at Ithaca College

The following local residents were named to the Dean’s List at Ithaca College for the fall 2012 semester.

Chloe Tiso, a resident of Manlius and a senior Musical Theatre major, was named to the Dean’s List in Ithaca College’s School of Humanities and Sciences.

Gabrielle Fister, a resident of Waterville and a sophomore Film, Photo. Video & Vis Arts major, was named to the Dean’s List in Ithaca College’s Roy H. Park School of Communications.

Kaitlyn DeHority, a resident of Manlius and a freshman Music with Outside Field major, was named to the Dean’s List in Ithaca College’s School of Music.

Nathan Antonacci, a resident of Syracuse and a freshman Exploratory major, was named to the Dean’s List in Ithaca College’s School of Humanities and Sciences.

Katherine Frappolli, a resident of Manlius and a freshman Television-Radio major, was named to the Dean’s List in Ithaca College’s Roy H. Park School of Communications.

Jaime Odin, a resident of Manlius and a junior Clinical Health Studies major, was named to the Dean’s List in Ithaca College’s School of Health Sciences and Human Performance.

Students Named to the President’s List at Brockport

The College at Brockport, State University of New York, recently honored students who excelled academically by naming them to the President’s List for the fall 2012 semester.

William Valentino of Manlius, NY was named to the President’s List.

Audrey Wallace of Manlius, NY was named to the President’s List.

To achieve the honor of being on the President’s List, a student must earn a GPA of 4.0.
