(Utica, NY – Feb. 2013) Sculpture Space is excited to announce they have selected the Honorary Royal Couple for this year’s Mardi Gras Extravaganza to be held on Saturday Feb. 23 at the Radisson Hotel.

Utica residents Don Shipman and husband Adam Lawless have accepted the Royal honor and will be present to help kick off the night’s festivities.

As WKTV’s Evening News Anchor, Don Shipman is well known throughout the community for his reporting and support of the regions many events for local non-profit organizations.

Adam Lawless, Manager of Community Engagement and Marketing for the United Way, is a pioneer of programs that provide critical necessities for those in need and promote a cleaner community for all to enjoy.

“Don and Adam are extraordinary members of the Mohawk Valley Community. Their selection honors them for their service to our region and will set the pace for a great event” said Robert Avery, Chair of Mardi Gras and member of the Sculpture Space Board of Directors.

The couple is preceded by two of the event’s original Co-Founders and former member of the Sculpture Space Board, Joe and Michelle Corasanti (’11) along with well known members of the local business community, Joe and Frances Suppa (’12).
