(Madison, NY – April 2013) Madison Friends of Music, in conjunction with the Sitrin Stars, will once again host their annual wheelchair basketball event. Now in its third year, the basketball game will be held in the Madison Central School gymnasium on Wednesday, April 24 beginning at 6 p.m.
Attendees will be treated to a night of basketball featuring Madison community members, as well as MCS faculty and students, all playing against the Sitrin Stars, a wheelchair basketball team based in New Hartford.
In addition to the basketball game, food and beverages will be available for purchase, and there will be a raffle for a music-themed gift basket that includes a signed basketball, iTunes gift cards, the popular movie Pitch Perfect and more. During halftime, an elementary relay race and a shootout competition will be held, with prizes for the top winners.
Tickets will be sold at the door and are $5 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens. Admission is free for children five and under. Raffle tickets for the gift basket will be available at the game, and are $1 per entry. All proceeds will benefit music programming at Madison Central School.
