(Brookfield, NY – Aug. 12, 2013) The victim of yesterday’s fatal accident has been identified as Cyle Chesebro, 49, of West Edmeston.

Chesebro was pronounced dead at the scene.

(Brookfield, NY – Aug. 11) Madison County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the scene of a vehicle accident that occurred at approximately 5:35 a.m. Aug. 11 on State Route 8 in the Madison County Town of Brookfield, approximately 3 miles south of Leonardsville.

A vehicle operated by Phurba Tamang, 31, of Utica was traveling south on Route 8 when a deer entered the roadway from an adjacent cornfield. The deer was struck by Tamang’s Mad Co Sheriff's Deptvehicle.

Investigators on the scene determined that the deer was sent airborne as a result, impacting a motorcycle heading north.

The male driver of the motorcycle was ejected as a result of the impact with the deer, and was pronounced dead on the scene by Brookfield Rescue as a result of his injuries. The victim was transported to the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office in Syracuse.
