(Syracuse, NY – May 2014) Ten Onondaga Community College faculty and staff members have been named winners of SUNY Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence. The system-level honors acknowledge and provide system-wide recognition for consistently superior professional achievement, and encourage the ongoing pursuit of excellence.
The program underscores SUNY’s commitment to sustaining intellectual vibrancy, advancing the boundaries of knowledge, providing the highest quality of instruction, and serving the public good. Through these awards, SUNY publicly proclaims its pride in the accomplishment and personal dedication of its instructional faculty, librarians and professional staff across its campuses. Following is a list of Onondaga’s winners:
Excellence in Teaching
· Kelly Groginski, Associate Professor, Mathematics. Groginski has served students at Onondaga since 2000 and lives in Liverpool.
· Barbara Hoy, Professor, Mathematics. Hoy joined the faculty in 1990. She resides in Baldwinsville.
· Brian McAninch, Professor, Chemistry and Physical Science. McAninch has served students at Onondaga since 2000. He lives in Tully.
· Donna Stuccio, Professor, Criminal Justice. Stuccio joined the faculty in 1990. She resides in Syracuse.
Excellence in Librarianship
· Angela Weiler, Library. Weiler has served students at Onondaga since 2004. She resides in Jamesville.
Excellence in Professional Service
· Tracey Green, Registrar, Certification and Records. Green graduated from Onondaga in 1989, the same year she began working at the College. Green lives in Warners.
· Kathryn Hill, Director, Human Resources. Hill graduated from Onondaga in 1976. She worked at the College from 1984 until her retirement in April 2014. Hill lives in Camillus.
· Susan Tormey, Assistant to the Vice President, Human Resources and External Relations. Tormey began working at Onondaga in 2008. She lives in Syracuse.
Excellence in Faculty Service
· Karen Harrison, Associate Professor, English, Reading, Communication. Harrison has worked at the College since 2000. She lives in Syracuse.
Excellence in Classified Service
· Jamie Jaeger, AV Specialist, IT/AV Department. Jaeger began working at Onondaga in 2003. He lives in Warners.
