Chenango County Dairy Court preparing for fair week so kids of all ages can enjoy a range of different games that are guaranteed to get them active and having fun.
(Chenango County, NY – July 2013) The Chenango County Dairy Princess and members of her court will be at the 2013 Chenango County Fair. Throughout the week, the dairy princess and her court will be leading games and activities that will get kids up and moving around, while stressing the importance of dairy in the daily diet. Prizes will be awarded as well.
Exley Bookamer is one of 35 county dairy princesses involved in the New York State Dairy Princess and Promotion Program. The purpose of the program is promote the dairy industry and increase milk and dairy sales, and is funded by local dairy farmers through their checkoff investment in the American Dairy Association and Dairy Council, Inc.
The princess and her court will make several appearances throughout the week. They will participate in the 2013 4-H and Fireperson’s Parade held Aug. 6 at 7 p.m.
The court will host an ice cream social on Wednesday night Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. during the dairy cattle showmanship contest.
On Saturday Aug. 11 at noon the court will help with the rescheduled 2nd annual duck derby agricultural scholarship, and on Saturday night at 7 p.m. members of the court will be found scooping ice cream with the Chenango County Republican Committee in Exhibition Hall.
In addition, The Chenango County Dairy Promotion Committee will have a retail shop set up outside The Case 4-H Building during the entirety of the fair. The dairy court and the committee will be selling promotional items, including those that feature the popular “Got Milk?” campaign as well as some new items.
